Default sorry crosspost - how long did you wait for Harmony test results?

I've posted this in 1st trimester but might get more response from 2nd trimester-ites having been through the first tri testing - I know they say the Harmony test results take about 14 days to come back, but the wait is killing me and I'm scared that the results won't be back by the time I have my 12 week ultrasound and obstetrician appointment (Monday and Tuesday next week). I had the test at lunchtime on Tuesday 14th October so 14 days will be Tuesday when the obst. appointment is booked, but I was really hoping I'd get the results before the ultrasound so I can finally announce our pregnancy to the world. So has anyone who had the harmony test (don't know if being in Melbourne makes a difference?) had the results come through earlier/later than 14 days? This two week wait is 1000 times worse than the 18 two week waits I had trying to conceive!!!

I had the test on the Monday and I think I got the call the following Thursday. So it was just a bit less than the 10 working days they'd mentioned.

I was originally told 10 days which should have been Friday and when I called they said it's now 14 working days. Grrrrr. I'm the same, my NT scan is Wednesday so I'll have those results before the Harmony results. Annoying!

Mine took 3 weeks....ekk! It got me worried, but all was fine. My ds arrived 2 weeks ago and he is just perfect.

Just wondering why would you get the Harmony tests if it takes 10 to 21 days to return and you can't get it before 10 weeks? You may as we'll wait for the nuchal and save $600.

Not trying to be smart but just wondering because my nuchal is at 13 weeks and I'm kinda worried about that. I was considering my options then came across this thread.

My sister just had the harmony test so she didn't have to have an amnio - nothing to do with the nt scan - she's considered high risk as she is 39 so it was suggested she check for chromosomal abnormalities this way instead of a riskier amnio plus we got to find out the sex at 12 weeks ! ( OP she got her results back in 10 days )

I got the iGeneScreen (similar to Harmony) done as well as the 12 week NTS, because the blood test has a lower rate of false negative results. I wanted certainty rather than a risk ratio. (Maybe because I'm an engineer, so I like "yes" or "no" rather than "probably not" as an answer.)

I was told by my ob that it is much more accurate with results. 99% for harmony combined with scan compared to 90% for bloods and nt.

I'm high risk too (42yo). My GP mentioned I could get the blood test (for about $ 100) if the nuchal came back high risk but I thought the amnio was more reliable (but more risky).

Im finding it really confusing. I was thinking of getting the blood test before for peace of mind but it looks like it would be abit of a waste of money if I was forking out that much and risk finding out at the same time as the nuchal. I may as we'll wait until after and make any necessary step then.

    thanks for answering
