Default How much does Public High School cost?

What are the actual costs of attending state high school? Yearly or even the whole 6 years - approximate idea of expenses please.

When my sil (we are her guadians) went to public high school, we paid $250 for the year (upfront or spread over the 4 terms), plus uniforms (approx $200), plus stationary/some text books, plus costs for any excursions/camps/performances at the school, plus extra again for certain things for some subjects (eg swimming for physical ed). It added up thats for sure.

Now she attends a private school, we pay about $5,100 for 2 kids per year and that includes everything except uniforms and basic stationary. All camps, excursions, performances, sport events etc are covered in the fees we pay so no out of pocket extra costs.

Straight forward...approx $700 per yr including uniforms, shoes, stationery, a lump sum you pay the school per yr for other bits n pieces which also includes student id....then there's all the extra stuff. Sport, excursions, camps, money for this and that.
And....if the student wants to be in other stuff such as the music program, dance, certain sports, etc than keep adding $$$ on

Well DS is in yr 8 next yr and his book list and fees etc is $640. Then camps etc on top, and the $20 I just paid for to pay for drum sticks he is now playing in music.
In yr 7, summer, winter, sports and shoes (black leather lace ups and sneakers for PE) set up cost me about $900 all up.....he did need a blazer.

DD in yr 9, different state school cost me $500 including books, and nil uniform costs as it had none.

We wouldn't spend more then $1000 on ss in a whole year for school expenses

    Fees $250
    Uniform $150
    Shoes socks $150
    Bag $50
    Stationary $100
    Excursions and photos $150 max
