Hoping u don't mind me butting in here... But your topic encompasses what I want to discuss too.

What is the Best time for dating scan to see heartbeat?
And Edd, if you don't have a 28day cycle do you base on lmp or ovulation? I have a 31 day cycle so usually o on cd18.... I think it only puts me a few days behind a 28day cycle, does this seem right?

with my second pregnancy my ob/gyn didnt do a scan until at least 7 weeks as it can be hard to see/hear the heartbeat before then... but i think also varies too...

i always thought that the docs date your due date 2 weeks prior to ovulation (if you know when that is)...

    its tricky as hell!!!

ive made an apt to see a different doc at 1pm tomorrow and hoping to re-do bloods and book in scan (i mainly want to have an early early scan so i can find out and approx due date.) its very frustrating not knowing...

Def emi u need a scan for dating, it's too hard for u to know, especially with how early u got ur positive.

Ok cool should only put me a few days different then. My scan booked in should be roughly 7/8 then... Last time I went at what should've been bout 9... Just really praying this time is different and that there is something in there to be seen and heard

good luck hun!!! i will have my fingers and toes crossed you too!

its such a nerve racking time! and i think all the new pregnancy tests on the market that let you find out sooner cause more headaches than not at times. its killing my finding out so early sometimes!

hi all, i saw a different doctor today and she was shocked that the first doctor didnt book repeat bloods or a scan or anything...

i had another blood test today and get the results in a couple of days and am booked in for an early scan this coming wednesday...

the wording the doctor used was 'we will book you in for an urgent scan just to see if there is anything there'... so that hasnt really boosted me with confidence at all... but i did another HPT this morning and it is clearly ALOT darker then the ones take last week were.

for those that have had early scans... what can i expect to see etc? dont want to get my hopes up or anything but would like to know what i can expect...

That's good news emi. I'm surprised they don't want you to wait a tiny bit before scan. I'm going at roughly week 8 as hoping to see a heartbeat

hi all i had an early scan today (they had a cancelation)

there was a sac in my uterus and its measuring 4.3mm which they said is roughly 4 and a bit weeks (which is what the first doctor said) so feeling pretty happy about that.

the sonographer said that (off the record) shes pretty sure it will be a viable pregnancy which is great to hear!!!

i have to go back in a couple of weeks for another scan so will do this when i see my ob/gyn around 7-8 weeks!

    feeling pretty relieved today!
