    If you've got 50-50 I don't see why you should be giving your ex anything. You should go halves in medical and childcare bills and that's it. It's the ex's job to pay the routine bills when the kids are in the ex's care.

    I have 50-50 with my ex and I have to pay a small amount of child support each month as I earn a higher wage. We go halves in school/ medical fees etc. CSA changed their rules on 50-50 a few yrs ago

    Eta.. I was told it was to address situations where a parent pursued 50-50 custody so as to get out of paying child support. Don't know if this is correct though

    Really ? I didn't know that. I have 50/50 but we don't claim CS off each other. We both work, so what is the point in claiming is my view ? Just because him or I work our butts off or do overtime etc the other benefits ? no thanks.
