Oh and I haven't had a cycle this long since I came off the pill apart from my first month. Seeing the acupuncturist tonight so maybe she can tell if I'm utd from my pulse

Hi guys - sorry to disappoint, but no bfp here! . Fingers crossed for tomorrow morning, beyond that I'll be waiting for AF on Friday.

I have a question for those of you who are using the clear blue opk, the one that tests for two hormones. I have used the normal clear blue OPKs before, but this is the first time using this one.
Today is CD14 and I did my first test this morning and got an open circle (-ve), which is normal as I don't normally O until CD19, but, should I have a flashing smiley? How many days before O would you expect to get a flashing smiley if I normally get a +ve one or two days before O? TIA
MadSci, I have used these opks this cycle. I read somewhere that the first test will always be an empty circle as it sets the base line. The next test will then be able to read if your estrogen is rising. Not sure if this is true but it makes sense. For this cycle I had an empty circle to start, then 4bdays of flashing faces before getting the peak fertility face.

I read this somewhere too but it can't be totally true. As the solid smiley stays on for 48hrs I have tested with old ones and still got a smiley. Unless it has longterm memory. But when you put a new tester in after not using it for 3 (or so) days, it flashes images as of it is new.

According to what you say, I should probably get a flashing smiley tomorrow? I couldn't really go by what the instructions say because I have a shortish cycle but O late. Had bloods this morning which showed slightly elevated hormones, bloods again on Thursday.
I also have short cycle & late O. Don't know if it's all caused by the same thing but I am notorious for having really long fertile readings. My body attempts to o, fails, attempts again. Means long +opks and lots ewcm.
Just a thought as u may be similar.
