WTH?? I cringe getting charged $100 for a bleach, toner dye, cut and blowwave.

You poor thing. I hope the haircut was good though. I usually only pay $75 for a cut and colour, but have had a time when I was super over-charged whilst shopping around for a hairdresser and was also so upset. $175 (6 years ago) for cut, colour and a coulple of foils. Well, haircut was chopped/hacked straight in at one side but graded down (can't think of word - brain is mush) on the other side, so many foils that it was a waste of time them colouring my hair back to brown and they refused to blow dry it for that much so I didn't know of the disaster that it was until I got home and dried it out. Should have gone back and complained as I was quoted around the $100 mark before she started and then she blew it out somehow even though nothing had changed. I was pregnant...and emotional, whereas now I would have said something straight away or gone back. Hang on...that did happen again...last time I had my hair cut in fact - couldn't get my usual chicky-babe and was told this other girl was great too - she coloured my hair a completely different colour to the swab she showed me, as in a whole other colour scheme - think red vs. dark brown, and she wouldn't cut it any shorter. So, I've bought a colour from the shop and I'll just get it cut next time I go. Hmmm - I was pregnant again and had been crying all morning prior to my haircut. What a long dribble...I'm sorry.

I've been there too! $400, 4 hours for cut, colour, toner and ghd. Terrifying. I have long hair btw. That's why I'm so put off hairdressers as there seems to be no set price... They seen to just add up all this stuff at the end I'm always chopping and changing hairdressers too now due to this trying to find someone who won't rip me off.
Massive hugs I know the feeling xxx

Oh XH you are a wonderful father to our kids. The fact that you actually got them birthday presents this year makes up for all your past deeds. Oh yes, I know how terribly busy you are which is why you haven't spent more than 3 hours with the kids in over three years. You're amazeballs.

If you break down the costs etc it is justifiable. Its not just product you're paying for its knowledge, skill, expertise all the other overheads. As I said once its broken down it really isn't that much...

But even if you are paying them at a high rate ph say, $40 an hour (labour assuming med to high skills/knowledge) that leaves $60 ph for product....rip!
