My 3yo sleeps in bed with me and newborn in bassinette next to bed. 3yo is a very light sleeper but hasn't been disturbed by baby at all, which really surprised me. Good luck!

3 out of 4 of mine slept on their stomachs from about 6 to 8 weeks old.

You really don't need to worry about a 13 month old rolling onto his stomach. Once they start rolling on their own they are fine. My son did the same from about 6 months, I didn't like it at first and would check on him frequently but by the time he was 12 months he was tossing and turning and rolling all night anyway.

I think your best bet is to get your toddler into his cot (and preferably his own room) as soon as possible before bub comes so he doesn't associate the changes with the arrival of his sibling. You don't want him still in your room getting woken up all night by the baby and it's safer to have your newborn in with you.

Yep, my 2 year old has slept on her tummy since she could roll properly (maybe 5 months?).

She can breathe just fine... my partner also tends to sleep on his stomach :P Seems weird to me, but they both find it comfortable.
