    Just let her do it. Otherwise there's a chance she will go ahead and do it anyway and hurt herself in the process.

    I have a nine year old and I would definitely allow hair removal if it's causing her distress. I was a really hairy child and mum didn't let me shave my legs until I was 12 and it was absolutely awful.
