Thanks ladies I got to see her this afternoon and she's devine. I also got to touch her in the humidicrib and I might get cuddles late in the week or early next week.
shes still ventilated but if she keeps doing this well they might try and extubate her tomorrow and put her on CPAP.

Congratulations @misti! She is lovely. I hope the NICU journey goes as smoothly as possible and you get a cuddle soon with your beautiful girl.

Today I am sitting beside my baby in my own room for the first time, it's amazing! We are doing one night of 'mother crafting' where I look after him in a room next to the nursery, but can call the nurses if I need. Then home tomorrow!! Six and a half weeks in hospital and it is so great to be on the home stretch

    Flower that's fantastic news!!

6.5 weeks is great. Good luck tonight, I hope everything goes smoothly. Are you breast feeding him? If you are, when did you start that? I'm expressing but they have said her sucking reflex won't kick in until 34 weeks so we will trial breast feeding at some stage after that. Until then she'll get expressed milk in a feeding tube.

@misti I am mixed breast and bottle feeds. I started one breastfeed attempt a day at 34 weeks, but he was still pretty unwell then. Now I do 2 or 3 breastfeeds, rest bottles. It's easier for them to manage bottles, I will gradually try to replace them with breastfeeds when we go home, as long as he is gaining weight. So I am still expressing too.

@misti congratulations! So happy for you and @Flower78 thats great news

Im currently being monitored at the hospital as have gone into pre-term labour. Im 33 + 1. Baby is measuring just over 34 wks and weighs 2.3kg so they have said should be okay if it does come. Having steriod injections for the lungs and some tablets beginning with n to try and stop the labour. I just had period pains and mentioned it when I rang about our prenatal appt. They did a labour swab test and it came back positive. Im a bit scared but glad they made me come in as I almost went to work today.

Hope everyone else is traveling ok and looking forward to hearing about all the new babies
