    Default Guinea Pigs Lovers Unite

To all those who love their little(or not so little) piggies, share the love and tell me about your piggies.

I have 8 piggies. 5 girls and 3 boys. We started our piggy journey by visiting bunnings. I am not even sure why we went to look at chicken coops that day but it was a few days before easter and i saw the guinea pig cage. I suggested we get 2 piggies for DS for easter. I called around to find some piggies.

There were 3 available. I put a deposit oj 2 of the girls to pick up the following day so i could get food etc ready for them. We went to pick up our 2 girls. Their sister, as much as i wanted to keep them together, i wasnt sure the home we bought would be big enough for them. I was ummming and ahhhing about her. My dads partner ended up buying her. We reunited the 3 sisters 2hrs later once our little Coco came to join Squeek Squeek and Cute Cute(named by kiddo).

I fell in love with them. They were 5wks old when we got our 3 girls.

I started looking online for bigger homes and we found a decent sized chicken coop which i bought 2wks later.

Once we bought the coop, we had a spare home and i wanted a lil long haired boy to put little ribbons in. Off to the markets we went. I found my Samson. His hair was crazy and it was instant love. He wasnt looked after properly. You could feel his ribs. Same with the girl we bought home that day. Pepper, there is something sweet about her. She looks like a rabbit. She is bigger than my other girls as she is a different breed. She is beautiful though.

As it was getting cold with winter approaching, i decided to put Samson with the girls so he could be warm. The girls would tease Samson as they would stand beside his cage all the time. His little love song of purring and vibrating was always cute. Still is.

They all lived happily together. I knew there was a crazy chance of pregnancy as the breed like crazy. All 4 girls got pregnant. We ended up with
Cute Cute - first girl to give birth and 3 babies
Squeek Squeek - second to give birth and 4 babies
Coco - 5 babies (2 still born and another passed away from broken legs while she was birthed)
Pepper - last girl to give birth with 2 beautiful little boys born.

We ended up with 5 girls and 6 boys from the living piggies. All our babies have found fantastic homes. Had one of my buyers text me on Saturday with a photo of Alberto. He is living with 3 girlfriends atm who adore him(lucky little boy lol).

I love my piggies, maybe even a lil more than kiddo(ok i fib, i love kiddo more but my piggies come a very close second).

Will attach photos shortly but please share your piggy stories and share the piggy love.

First lot of babies born (Cute Cute's first litter). I was in Sydney the weekend before they were born and was so worried they would be born without me being at home but my girl waited til i got home and gave birth that night.

Coco pregnant the day before she gave birth to 5 babies. She really struggled with that many but I am so proud of her. She did great. She was the biggest of all the girls. The other girls were no where near as big as her.

Squeek Squeeks babies. They were born overnight as well. Never would of guessed she had 4 babies hiding in there. She was a great mum and cared for them very well.

Miss Coco's babies. The grey one was the one who passed away. I hand fed this one for a few days. I crocheted her a lil blanket the night she passed away so she wouldnt be cold.

These little guys(Blaize and Popcorn) were born 6 days after Coco's babies. We kept these guys. Blaize has a white mowhawk and Popcorn is just, special. Could be the fur, not sure but i knew he was a keeper as soon as i saw him.
