And as to how I find time. I do the bare minimum on work days and on home days I clean and cook while the baby sleeps and the toddler rests. Also have a cleaner once a week.

I have deleted my reply to you now that you have altered your post. And yes, I was nasty. The post got my back up, but I appreciate that it wasn't your intention and you have changed the wording so it's all good. Sorry for the nastiness.
FWIW, my sister is creative and really messy. It's so bad her DP asked her to put in more of an effort, which we all thought was hilarious because we know how bad she is (he did more than his fair share trust me...when we both still lived with my parents and they were away my sister's mess drove me absolutely mental and I would get so mad at her because I couldn't even sit anywhere as she managed to have her crap everywhere!) She has no children and a house cleaner...she even pays the cleaner to clean out her cupboards. It was the only way she was every going to get good at cleaning. But she is happy at home, being creative, she'd never come and ride 40km on a bike with me, or head out for a 10km run etc. because that is her idea of torture, but the first thing I do when kid free for a day is pick a physical activity to do because I just love that kind of thing.

I honestly don't know how you manage to "do it all" as they say. But I am up for learning more - which is why I read threads like this in the first place. I quite liked your idea of breaking things up into manageable pieces of 5 minutes here and there - and was thinking I was going to have to give it a try.

I just mentioned the study because it made so much sense, regarding my chaotic nature and that of my friends and family....it wasn't supposed to be insulting to others at all.

I'm sorry if it came across that way - I will delete it.

It's ok - I can understand why it got your back up, I think when I wrote the post - my back was already up anyway - as tends to happen on BH threads about cleaning - And it wasn't anything you had said -or anyone in particular to be honest. But there had been some words thrown around like "disgusting" etc. But reading this thread has made me consider that perhaps cleaning is an art form? And that some people really enjoy it - so that is good. I wish I was one of those people to be honest Chaos is all very well - but it does come with it's issues, for example. I lost one of my kids Birth certs so had to apply for a new one as an emergency which was more expensive, because we were going overseas - then had to apply for their passport as a rush job which cost twice the price. And then after getting home, I found the original one in a few days. Doh! So yeah - it would be nice not to be that flighty chaotic person sometimes.

    - then

Sorry ladies I have been absent all morning: vacuuming and mopping the floors after the visitors left... (And cleaning the throne room too but that's a whole other thread).

C'mon, we're all waiting for the toilet WWYD thread. I have some serious procrastinating/housework avoidance to do and need a new debate to help me out!

For the next wwyd thread I am tossing up between a toilet scenario and a politically incorrect comment from my father scenario...

I have a cleaner once a fortnight and we are a shoes off family of 3. No chaos and no daily cleaning here.

PS : I was replying to your post that got very largely edited and that was indeed very rude. Good on you for deleting it though.

Don't hold off too long deciding. I've already cleaned all the toys off the floor and hung out a load of washing. I'm at serious risk of getting some folding done soon...

Vp. I'm hardly on the hub these days for that exact reason. I barely have time to look after the boys and house and work.

I responded (amongst others). It was a response to your post which I think is fair to say was pretty 'tongue in cheek' and it's fair to have a 'tongue in cheek' response to!

I don't know why everyone's getting upset when I stated that. Am I not allowed to have an opinion because we are TTC and havnt been lucky enough yet? I said in other posts there was only two of us and that's why I found it easy, and never attacked anyone. If we do conceive, with a OH that goes away for 6 months at a time I can guarantee you I probably won't be able to be as tidy! I also said my place was small so it took 5 mins to vacuum. I spent three months scrubbing a building for hours every night and now spend hours a day scrubbing ships at work. It has become quite a habit to clean up..which is why I am of the belief that if I have 5 mins on My iPad I have 5 mins to clean. Is that an attack? No! It's just how i was brought up and how I have been trained at work. When we are deployed before we sleep we clean, it's a habit.

If you are that sensitive about me answering the OPs question honestly according to my lifestyle then I'll head back over into the TTC section, as it really feels like because I don't have children I am being pushed out. I'm feeling quite upset now, I'm sorry VP that this has hijacked your post.

sensitive? Upset? Mean? So it's ok for you to joke around (see above) but not others. Also, did I call you ridiculous? I mentioned I thought the idea of cleaning every 5 minutes of my spare time ridiculous, not you!

Yep, i did feel like I was amongst stepford wives though, I'll admit that. But seriously, it was pretty reminiscent of the movie while reading this thread!
