Omg, I never knew! I'm surprised DS is still alive with all the germs and dirt I let him be amongst! I'm sure I've flushed the toilet with seat up many times, and I only wash the bathrooms once a week, if I feel like it.

VP, is just tell them straight out of its bothering you that much

We are a shoes off house, I guess it's cultural as I was brought up that way and now I cannot bring myself to wear shoes inside my house lol. DH will wear his shoes inside now and then, but it's his house too so whatever. just don't track crap upstairs and leave it there. clean it.

I have a couple of good mats now so if it's been muddy or we've been out for a walk then I'm fine to get everyone to use the mats and be inside with shoes long enough to get the kids sorted first. my 6yo is fine with putting his outdoor shoes on etc but we recently had artificial lawn installed at the back so I'm not so bothered as there's no dirt anymore

For parties etc, I don't mind what my friends do but we usually end up shoeless anyway haha. If I think back? they've never had their shoes on if they're feet up on my couch .. ahh true friends lol

the tiles are cleaned twice a week and I vacuum at least twice a day ... otherwise it just looks dodgy lol. these kids are crazy messy.

I am so SO close to putting a sign on my toilet asking people to put the lid down. DP and I seem to be the only two people in the world who put the lid down and it makes me sick! Toilets have lids for a reason...I am sick of people flushing their particles all over my bathroom.

If you can get your kids to do that every time they go I'll buy a lottery ticket.

Maybe I'll feel that way too when my partner and I conceive Sonja. But for now, all I have is my squeaky clean floors.

You may need to lower your expectations of this when your kids are school age and having their friends over in the afternoon. They excitedly run in and out while they're playing, well at least that's what happens here. I often have anywhere between 4 and 6 kids at my house on any given afternoon. I'd never get anything done if I was being the shoe police the whole time they were here
