    Sorry to hear how things are going for you both!! After have 1 failed cycle so far I can only imagine the devestation of multiple failed cycles!!

    We changed clinics before we even started as I felt the first Dr wasn't that interested in us and out situation just giving 'standard' advise. Our current Dr I liked from the moment we met him.

    My one thought is could you make a few appointments with a few different specialists and see what each has to say before you decide who to go with? Go in with your history and ask what they recommend.... Then you can see if they are just going over old ground or have new ideas on how to approach your particular situation.

    My thoughts are with you both!!

    Hi Ladies,
    Hope you don't mind me joining you all. I have just started my 2nd cycle after approx 5 years off taking care of our DS.

    History: Double tube removal in 2010, due to bilateral hydrsalphalinx. IVF 1 BFP fresh transfer. 1 x Frostie, transferred 2012 BFN...No frosties left.

    Am currently on Lucrin and heading to clinic tomorrow for Day 2 bloods and scans, assuming if alls well will start GonalF 150 this week.

    Hope all is well and everyone is stimming well, and the TWW's are being kind!

    Hi Funny Face,

    After so many failures you sort of become VERY sick of just paying a doctor to say the same stuff, and after 5 fresh cycles finances are tight and I only have one arm and one vein that gives any blood. It was so scarred that it felt like a knife every time I went for a blood test so hoping to just find someone who will suit me first go.....not like I'm asking for much

    Hi Buffie,

    I can completely understand and it doesn't really get any easier, you just learn to accept it. I did, but not before I nearly had a complete mental breakdown. Things are better now thanks to medication, don't be afraid to get some help if you need it, it's such a hard hard thing to go through.

    Eastern states not really an option for us, although I have heard they have had some great success. I too felt like just a number even tho my doctors and nurses were kind I felt they couldn't really do more for me, hence I wanted some recommendations.

    I couldn't even stand to hear the word pregnant in the radio or TV without crying it got that bad.....it will pass....but still feel like a dagger every time you hear the word. Much ♥️ I hope you get there

    Sorry ladies, i haven't had time to catch up the last few posts. A quick note.
    @brookeb: I remember talking to you but my brain is kinda a blur of what I'd said to some of the BH members. Did your FS change protocol, try new thing at all for the last 5 cycles? If not, he/she is clearly NOT a good one. Is your AMH OK? Since you are unexplained, have you tested any possible immune issues? I know many perth FS are very conservative and think we google too much. GP can do basic BT so you don't have to ask FS for it if he/she is the conservative type. I am more than happy to provide you with a list of BT.

    Hi BBHope,

    i have had additional tests and a biopsy, I also requested additional blood tests which showed nothing. I had the same protocol throughout all 5 cycles. Only thing different was a slight increase in medication, and I also went on melatonin for 30 days before on cycle 3 to 5. Perhaps I should have changed before now, but my last shot was my FET and wanted to get that over and done with....I also honestly thought I would get pregnant.....

    My clinic is obviously not suitable for me, and I would just like to know if anyone has any recommendations for others. My hubby's swimmers are all good, fertilisation rates were good and my ham was about 14 from memory when last tested....not fantastic but not horrific either.

    any ideas people ??

    @brookeb

    Are you on gonal or menupur? I heard that older women or poor responder can be better off with menupur. On the other hand, I'd heard most people on the other thread that they responded the worst with menupur. I am lucky enough only have to go through two cycles but i have different kind of grief to go through in this infertility journey. When my first cycle didn't really work out with gonal-f (poor responder), my FS switched to menupur for my second cycle. Instead of long down, i was also switched to short cycle. I am still a pretty poor responder with high dose menupur but enough eggs for the cycle. I am under 35. I was also on melatonin and a heap of vitamins for my second cycle.

    Did you do 3 or 5 days transfer?

    Anyway, i would look for a clinic and FS who is proactive in changing protocol. Give the new FS two cycles. Have a look at estrogen priming protocol. It seems like working for some women in the east. DHEA etc might help. Unfortunately, i can't recommend any FS here in perth since i did my cycles out east but certainly know who NOT to see here.

    Hi everyone. Looks like I'll be starting a cycle tomorrow or the next day (whenever AF decides to actually make an appearance!). I haven't done a cycle since 2012 so I feel like a total newbie again and my nerves are through the roof. I know I'll be fine once I do that first injection.

    @bbhope

    I was on Gonal F, with 5 day transfer each time. The first time I transferred I also had a 5 day blast to freeze which I used in a NEG FET.

    i think they went too gently with me, and didn't switch it up so will be changing and going to another clinic.

    will also have a look at what you recommended, thanks

    Welcome @caketin and good luck with your IVF journey this time around. Wishing you all the best.

    I had my current clinic call me to talk about next steps. They have recommended I have a hysteroscopy, lapro and D&C before my frozen transfer for "peace of mind". When I asked why they recommended this they advised that it's routine procedure after 3 failed fresh stim cycles. I then asked what we could do about addressing our main issue which is the embryos ceasing every time and the lab said, I kid you not, "nothing really". I'm just gob smacked by these responses and attitude. I'm wondering whether to bother with the frozen transfer, or just call it quits to go to another clinic now! I understand the surgeries are common procedure and may be worth doing locally/getting out of the way.
