Hey @Sariele I'm pretty sure I remember you. I'm at Hollywood and they do 5 day and 6 day transfers they also do 3 day transfers it all depends on how many embryos you get. My last cycle I transferred 2 x 6 day blasto's and ended up pregnant with twins! They are 5 and a half weeks old now.

I was previously at FN and left for similar reasons, I was very unhappy with my care there. I moved over to FSWA in Claremont and found the whole stim cycle I did with them to be a much nicer, more individualised experience. The nurses and embryologists a just seemed a lot nicer and more approachable, and our doc was awesome! I had a blast transfer done at FSWA (they also do them routinely), as opposed to a three day at FN, and we were extremely fortunate that our first embryo stuck and I'm now 15 weeks pregnant but even if this cycle had resulted in a bfn, I still would have been a lot happier with the cycle overall than I ever was at fert north.

Another happy customer from Hollywood. I had a five day blast transferred who's currently sat on my lap. I loved the staff there.
    Good luck!

Sariele: I have some info for you. As far as i know, hollywood only does known donor. You certainly can import the embies back to WA. HOwever, sperms is a different story. Importing your own donor sperms isn't allowed in WA as far as i know but recently i have came across a post saying you can if you already have a child with the same donor.

I have to run off for work. I'll write more tonight. While it is easier to do it all here, it is best to go with the clinic that you like. If i would have gotten to the top of the donor list earlier, will i do it in perth or go back out to east? My answer would be back east unless $ gets in the way. I love my FS and the clinic. I have less trust in the clinic and FS who i seen here. I don't discount the local clinic effort of helping me, though. I did all the monitoring here and only a 2 days trip when i was ready for FET transfer.

Default Calling all Perth girls #20

Thanks for the replies! bbhope You're right, I sent an enquiry to Hollywood and they got back to me overnight. They said that they can make an application for approval to have our embies and sperm shipped to them since we have an existing child to that donor, but that they can't even begin this process without seeing us in person, they won't do a Skype consult or anything like that. I also contacted Pivet and they said the same (they didn't even acknowledge the embies/sperm question, just said they can't do anything for us without an appointment in person). So it looks like I'll have to stick to my original plan of having monitoring scans in Perth but going to Bris for a night or two for transfer. At least I don't have to worry about the complications of changing clinics yet. We're only going to be able to do this one FET, and if that doesn't work it will probably be a very long time before I'm able to stim again, maybe a couple of years.

Thanks again for your input, if we do eventually end up back in Perth it sounds like Hollywood and FSWA are the way to go.

@Nezz79 oooh I didn’t realise your twins had arrived – congratulations!
@Sariele I go to fertility specialists south (sister clinic of FSWA which Besha mentioned) and day 5 transfer is standard, although I think they might do other transfers depending on the situation

@Sariele: I think i'll PM you. I don't want to bad mouth clinics in a public forum.

Like a few of you I did my initial investigations at FN but was really not happy with the specialist, I don't know why but I just didn't feel particularly comfortable even though nothing in particular put me off, so on the recommendation of a friend we moved to Concept, it is further to go but I have been really happy.

As some would know they now offer a 'standard IVF' which is substantially less then any option at any other clinic including their tailoured process.

Our friends who recommended it to us had a 5 day transfer, from the sound of it that is pretty standard for their patients following the tailored process but for standard they do a 2 or 3 day transfer, but my understanding the standard was set up for those wilt any other diagnosed issues/concerns.

Our fresh transfer was unsuccessful so we will be doing a FET after having this month off. Assuming no issues with defrosting we will have the opportunity of two FET cycles before potentially starting another full cycle.

Good Luck with finding a clinic!!

I would say that if you could afford the tailored IVF, it is the best option. While the standard low cost IVF sounds attractive, it might end up more costly if you have a lot of embies and it is a luck of a draw to go through the natural selection process via FET. Most embies don't develop into blast. I do know some FS will do 3 days transfer if you get less than certain number of embies. In my case, I would end up doing 3 days transfer both stim if I would go through the clinic here in Perth. Even 2, FS in the East will try to beat the odd for growing them to day 5.

Thanks for the advice!! We are considering going a tailored cycle if things don't work out with out FET cycles. We decided because standard was cheaper that it was worth a try the first round to see how it would go and we had also heard the first cycle can be a bit of trial and error to see how you react to the hormones. Our specialist does 3 and 5 day transfers so we plan on discussing it with him depending on how things go.
