My grandma was mamma (mamm ma) as my sister always used to call her mum and it got weird! My mum changed it when my sister was 4.

Dh's parents wanted nana and grand dad.. My ds calls them nanagaga.. A collective term for both of them! It's really cute!!!

I'll probably just be nanna. I don't understand the modern day notion of 'nanna' "being old". A grandparent is a grandparent, the name doesn't change anything.
Also the idea that both grandparents have to be different names... both my sets of grandparents were nanna and grandad; when talking about them to others it was "nanna *surname*", then to their faces we just said "nanna".

It just doesn't have to be so complicated.

I will probably be nanny when I eventually have grandkids.

My mum is Nanny, her husband is Pa.

My dad is Poppy and my step mum is Grandma, even though she was only 30 when my niece was born, she embraced being called grandma wholeheartedly.

DH's mum is Grandma as well and her husband is Grandad but our kids do not see them at all.

I don't think I'd mind what I'm called (DS is only 7 months quite hard to think that far ahead lol)

I let everyone choose what they wanted to be called.

My MIL wanted Nanny. Her husband wanted Poppy.
My FIL wanted to be called Pa.

My father was originally going to be Gramps. The day DS was born he decided Poppy was better. My stepmum wasn't even 40 when DS was born so she didn't want the grandma thing.
She decided simply to be Nanny Kayls when we refer to her and Nanny when she's around. She lives on a farm so we think DS trying to say it will start out like Nanny Cows. Which I find adorable!
Both sides of my family were nanny. I never got confused.

I've never thought about it before! I guess I can't imagine ever being an actual grandparent! I have no idea what I might like to be called.

My grandparents when I were little were nanny *surname*, and nanny and poppy for mums mum and dad.

My parents are nanny and poppy.
Dhs mum is nan-nan (her choice) and her partner is just known by his first name.
Dhs dad is grandpa and his wife is known by her first name.

My mum Is grandma to my brothers kids and currently to my 10 monther is bibi.
I think I'd like to be nanna rather than grandma. Grandma is too hard for little ones to say.

I don't mind what they call me will be up to my kids to decide lol.

My parents insisted on letting my kids decide what to call them not understanding that a little kid can't just come up with a name on their own. So we started calling them grandma and grandad and my eldest being the only grandchild at the time took to calling them Nanma and Nandad so now that's what they are.

My parents are grandma and grandpa. My ILs are MarMar and PaPa which is DS1 mispronouncing Grandma and grandpa.
