@SJ89 Try not to stress too much about EPU (easier said than done, I know!). I actually enjoyed it the most out of any aspect of IVF! That probably sounds weird I was put under, and yep – the drugs made me feel all nice and fuzzy and relaxed. Then I went home and had a lovely long nap afterwards.

I was on 150iu of gonal f but only got 5 eggs, so this time I’ll be on 300.
@KayzB My FS said exactly the same thing! Umm… not helpful dude!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am very excited but a bit nervous about the needles though. The counsellor said it's normal to be most worried about that before your first cycle tho but afterwards you get used to them.
@SJ89 - i'm not sure what drug it is but i remember the dr saying 150. So that must be my dose. I haven't been told anything else. they said the nurse will go through all of that with me on Monday. I haven't been given any other dates yet. My period is expected next Monday or Tuesday. My periods are a little irregular (can be between 1-4 days off each month) but i average around 32 days. Also because of my polypectomy, that may mess with my cycle this month.
@ScubaGal - my specialist said that too so here's hoping! he seems to be quite positive but i guess you never know until you retrieve those little eggies and see if the quality is ok so i don't want to get my hopes up too much. My hubby has 100% IGG and 77% IGA so pretty much fully covered (head, mid and tail). We had no chance! but I see from your signature that you have your BFP so that gives me hope as well! Huge congratulations to you i almost can't imagine being pregnant after such a journey and seeing all my friends get pregnant easily along the way but we must stay hopeful!

@MrsChino I know right! FS's prob have become accustomed to disappointments etc & therefore can come across a bit blasé. I know they have good intentions, but saying something like that, espec when it's so fresh, is definitely of little consolation 😕 xx

    Yup I'm pregnant.

I got pregnant on my fresh cycle but lost the pregnancy at week five. Pregnant now from a FET right after the miscarriage which was hard emotionally but obviously worthwhile.

I was on 150 as well and got 10 eggs, 8 mature and fertilised and four blasties out of that. Lost the first one, pregnant from the second so two more on ice.

So yeah, it does happen. That's what my FS said to me when she called to congratulate me after the second BT for this pregnancy. She said "well that's why we do this, because it works".

Thank you sooo much everyone for your advice and quick responses! I feel a lot less stressed about talking to my boss. I still need to cancel a work trip so I'm around town just in case dates change and for the blood tests etc but at least it's only 2 days off...

This to me is so much more important than work but I just worry how it looks to others. I appreciate all your help!!

@ScubaGal, it so nice to hear of your success story after your mc. It must have been so awful. i've never been pregnant but i could just imagine that feeling. So great to hear you got your BFP so soon after though. And it's wonderful to hear that FETs do work. Those egg numbers sound great! Fingers X that i am as successful! Oh and i just saw your post on hearing your baby's heartbeat. How wonderful! Sounds like everything is going right to plan this time xx

    Thanks Gelati.

Yeah I think if I could give any advice it would be to be open to the fact that it can work but it's often a bit bumpy and you just have to look after yourself and keep trying

Hi guys I'm moving on over to the October group. I had my first epu on sept 1st and ended up with 12 day 5 frosties. My fresh cycle was cancelled due to ohss. 1 month off so looking to cycle in early October for a fet.
For the newbies starting the injections, they defiantly we're not as bad as I thought. I gave them to myself and the anxious lead up is the worst part. Goodluck

    Hi All,

I was on here in June but had to take a break from the board.

I will be doing a transfer around the 7th October. This will be my 4th transfer. Our first ICSI cycle was in December and the fresh transfer resulted in a BFN. First FET was in Feb and was a BFP but I had a missed miscarriage discovered at my 10 week scan. We then did another FET in June, got another BFP but this resulted in a blighted ovum. We are now about to use our last frostie.

Good luck to everyone. I will have a read back now and see where you are all up to.
