    I have heard of using vinegar & dish washing liquid mixed together. My mum has just started doing it & it kills the weeds to the point they are brown spits lol, but it really does work so just spray weeds so you don't kill the grass aswell.

    I did a little google search and found that weed and feed is banned in a heap of countries because of its toxicity. Not sure how reputable the site was but it confirmed it for me.
    I got three bucketfuls out of an area about 2m by 5m in the backyard. The worst bit right near the back steps. My fingers are stinging but it was very satisfying.
    The front yard is even worse, and without a fence to confine ds it'll be a whole lot more work.
    I might try the dish washing and vinegar trick.
