    Default 5:2 Fasting Diet

    Has anyone tried this and had success? I saw it on TV the other day and have done some research since then and it sounds relatively simple. Restrict calories to 500 on 2 day per week of your choosing and eat normally (around 2000 cal) the other 5 days. I have a lot of weight to lose and this sounds like something I could do. Love to hear any stories of success or failure and if anyone is willing to join me in giving it a go I'd love that too.

    I haven't had personal experience with this, but my Dad's GP recommended it to him a while ago and both he and my Mum have been following it for 6 months or so. They have both found it really successful and easy to follow - Dad lost alot of weight and my Mum (who didn't have much to lose) lost a little and feels much better.

    My parents and brother have done it / do it and find it effective and quite easy to do. My mum had to stop doing it as she lost too much weight but she never really had much to lose in the first place.
    They've all said it's much easier than a normal diet as even if you are hungry on the fast day, you know you can then eat normally the next day.

    I also watched it on TV. I started it Monday. I actually found fasting easy, which was surprising because I love food. Monday I had 3 green teas, water, cup of soup for dinner, and then a couple of spring rolls (because I was visiting friends). Tuesday I had 3 green teas, water, 1 small chicken roll and a slice of pizza. I was down 1.1kg this morning. I think this is definitely something I can follow.

    I am planning to split up my fasting days. Day 1 on mondays and day2 fridays and fasting for around 32 hrs each time.

    I tried it, didn't really suit me. Instead I restrict calories to 1000 - 1200 everyday and the weight dropped off.

    I've just started this diet. I've only fasted one day so far. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and I felt really good the next day. My MIL did it and lost lots of weight, so I'm fairly positive it works. I just hope I have the self control to keep it up. I plan on fasting Monday's and Thursday's.

    I've read a little about intermittent fasting and have heard some great results. I'd love to hear how you ladies go with it. Im currently pregnant so it's not an option at this point but I'd like to give it a go in the future.
