Often eczema is not related to allergies or diet, it's a gene. My DS has this kind. The ONLY thing that works for us after 2 years of everything is following our eczema specialist peadiatricians program. Steroid creams are necessary, without them scratching breaks the skin, causes scarring and staph infections. We now do bleach baths twice a week minimum, steroid cream and qv, his skin has improved out if sight.

Eczema itch at night is horrific and causes sleep problems so during a flare up we use phenergan.

I hope your boy improves soon.
I agree with the treatment of this 100%. My DS2 has allergies though so they play a big part. The bleach baths are great at keeping infection away. I bleach bathed DS one day too late a few months ago and that landed us in hospital for days with a staph infection. We don't use coconut oil due to allergies or most natural creams as they contain almond oil etc. We do use both qv oil and qv cream as well as steroid creams when needed. I've tried millions of creams and these work for us. We only use purity washing powder and We also use antihistamines often. They do help him with not scratching in his sleep.

I hope your little guy feels better soon x

@harvs sorry I just read your post. Poor thing... hope he's getting better and you are feeling less stressed now.

My ds don't have eczema but I use oats in his bath water and use heaps of cold extract virgin organic coconut oil all over his body. I use food processor for oats and put them a organza bag for his bath. The water goes nice and milky
