    Default Sinus problems?

    Lately I have been having this strange pressure/fullness feeling at the back of my head at the base and been getting vertigo. I didn't think that much of the vertigo because I have always had it on and off usually due to ear infections. I had a head cold a few weeks ago and after I was better I still had a very sore throat so I went to the Dr and she said it was very red with a bad sinus drip and put me on antibiotics. The throat stopped hurting but I keep getting a thick build up of phlegm/mucus at the back of my throat that won't budge with coughing or gargling and the only way to clear it is to scrape it out with a cotton tip and that happens a few times a day, the first time it built up that bad I couldn't breathe. So I am wondering could it all be related? The pressure, the vertigo and the mucus? I am hoping to get into see the Dr tomorrow but was wondering if anyone knows what it might be caused by?

    Apparently there are no Drs appointment available until later this week anyone have any idea what could be wrong and how to fix it

    Subbing because I have exactly the same thing! I'm wondering if the initial infection hasn't quite gone away? I'm giving it another couple of days and will go back to the dr if it lingers on.

    Sounds like a sinus infection to me. I get a similar thing but not that severe.

    I find steaming up the bathroom ie really hot shower and breathing that in helps loosen the mucus.

    Maybe try those up the nose sprays from the chemist, I also find them useful.

    Managed to get into the Dr today and it seems my sinusitis never cleared up from last time which I already figured. She has put me on some really strong antibiotics and if they don't clear it up fully then she wants to refer me to a ear, nose and throat specialist because I do get so many sinus and ear infections

    My mum suffers terrible sinus problems. She had an allergy test and is allergic to so many random things that just can't be avoided in life! Dust, grass, pollen etc
    She uses a fess nasal wash every night and it has helped her heaps.
    Spring is the worst season for her to get infections and the last one was so nasty it made her bp soar!

    But she swears by Rhinocort and the fess nasal wash
