    Default False positive

I took a FRER test last week and got a faint BFP. I was so happy! But have taken around 10 since and all have been BFN. I am a bit devastated - I had no idea I could have a false positive test. I really thought I was pregnant.

Has anyone else had a false positive pregnancy test?

Sorry to hear hollypolly, that really sux. Occasionally you can get false positive or an evap line that looks positive although the FRER's are usually pretty accurate. The other thought was maybe a chemical preg/early implantation failure? Has AF arrived yet and it is normal or a bit heavier and painful than normal?
Hope next cycle brings you a better result x

Thank you so much for your nice words. AF hasn't arrived yet. I am still waiting (which is partly why I thought I was pregnant). How can I tell if it's a chemical pregnancy?

Normally a chem will have a day or two of faint positive then go negative and usually AF is a bit heavier and crampy then usual. If bloods are done there is usually a low positive say 30hcg and then the next test it's dropped again to <5. It's not over till AF arrives x

So sorry, sounds like your emby started to implant but didn't progress. Pregnancy tests don't give false positives although last year there was suggestions of a faulty batch

I have had 2 false positives using internet cheapies. And they were definitely false positives. Most likely caused by a faulty test. The first one was a faint pos followed by a few negs- on the same urine sample. There's some info in this article on what may cause false positives:

I got my first BFP with DS2 and then got negatives for an entire week before I got another BFP!! It drove me crazy! If af hasn't arrived test again in a few more days... you never know! Good luck

Thank you everyone for the lovely replies. It was a bit of an emotional roller-coaster - thinking I was pregnant and getting all excited, only to have it taken away so quickly. I just really want that darn BFP!
