    Default Emailing daycare

    My DD's daycare centre has a new director. I have not yet met her but since she started a couple of weeks ago I have had occasion to send 2 emails to the centre (1 to advise when I would be in as a parent helper, 1 to advise of upcoming holiday that my DD would be absent). I have not actually had any acknowledgement that these emails have been received. The previous directors have always replied with "no worries" etc if it was nothing that actually required a reply. This lack of acknowledgement really annoys me. Am I overreacting?

    no - its just polite to respond to acknowledge that you have received the email.

    Maybe next time, add a read receipt?

    A read receipt. I hadn't thought of that.

    They don't work outside our organisation so I'd not wait for that confirmation either unfortunately. Perhaps you need to call and ask for confirmation that it's been actioned?

    My daycare is a bit hopeless at replying too. I'm very happy with the centre, but that's the one thing that they're a bit slack with and I generally have to ask for a reply if I want one (like I'll write "Can you please confirm that you've got this?")

    At my centre we always make sure we reply even with a thankyou or no problem etc! Just common courtesy I thought
