Default Moving to Mackay with Special needs 14 year old i need help with school

Hi I might be moving to Mackay next year (2015) does anyone know what the mackay District special school is like? I'm from the Gold Coast and my son attends the Currumbin Community Special School which I think is a wonderful school. Could someone also please tell me about state primary schools aswell please which one is a good one. The special school is in beakonsfield so I guess a school around that area for my daughter who will be in grade 2.
Are there any respite services and other services offered to kids with disabilities day programmes on a weekend, community access etc.
also which is a good dance school ballet tap jazz acro?

Thanks for any help as I'm am so confused atm.

Hi :-) I just moved from Mackay. I don't have any first have experience with the special school, but I am a teacher and u have had many dealings with the staff there (in terms of transitioning kindergarten students to the school) and all the staff I have dealt with are very kind, caring and seem to have the students interests at heart. I have a friend whose son attends the special school and she has only ever had positive things to say about it.

I have lots of friends who send their child to Beaconsfield State School (in year 1) and I've heard pretty good feedback about it. Mackay isn't very big so schools are fairly close.

    Good luck with your move
