See I was getting $20/hour (plus penalty rates) to clear tables at a surf club as a "waitress". I wouldn't call that a low wage for the job that I was doing.
Also, I approach it this way: I earn between $80-120 per hour. That's a good wage. A better wage than pretty much everyone who works in the hospitality industry (unless you're some kind of big-time celebrity chef or run a very successful business) So I figure, why not kick them a little extra, especially when I get good service?
