Thank you so much for that . I have to ring to make an appointment tomorrow. The GP said that the one he referred us to is getting really good results at the moment so that is good to know .

Are you able to tell me what we can expect at our first appointment?

    Hi Malak

Success story here. My husband had non obstructive azoospermia. We had to do ICSI. Fortunately, when they opened him up there was viable sperm, not much but viable nevertheless to use for fresh and latet down the track frozen cycles.

We fell pregnant on the 8th go, frozen cycle, with triplets. Sadly one of the triplets miscarried early on in the picture, but i have almost two healthy three year olds.

Dont take no for an answer. And trust me have hope xx

    Default Azoospermia chemotherspy

Hi. All of these success stories are giving me lots of hope.
My wife an I have been trying to conceive. I have been diagnosed with azoospermia after 2 negative semen analysis. I had a testicular biopsy which showed no sperm. I had 2 brain tumours as a child and had to have chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Has anyone else had similar history and successfully fathered a child?
    Thanks so much.

Johnathon you have to have hope. Dont take no for an answer. Exhaust all avenues first. Its a kick in the guts I can vouch for that. But there are ways these days..

My husband also did ALOT of chinese herbal medicine, way too much for me too handle, I think at one stage he was drinking a concotion made out of dear!

    Have you tried PESA?

    Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA);
    • The procedure is usually done under sedation with pain relief, but can be done under General Anaesthetic
    • In some men, sperm can be extracted directly from the epididymis
    • A fine needle is passed through the skin of the scrotum and placed in the epididymis
    • Small amounts of fluid can be taken and examined for sperm

    Default Azoospermia

@zoe thanks so much. I had TESA done and they found 1 sperm but after culturing it overnight it wasn't viable. I had a testicular biopsy Tuesday and they found no sperm. But if I made that 1 surely I can make more? I have a follow up appointment where I will ask all this but it's just hard to know what Drs to listen to/ what ones are just after money and stuff.
I'll have any procedures needed to help me biologically father a child but only if it's going to work

I'm so sorry to hear of your unsuccessful TESA and biopsy @jonathant . That must of been devastating for you

May I ask which Specialist/FS you had these procedures through?? I only ask as I believe the best in the field of MFI particularly NOA is Dr Golovsky and Dr Lok and if you haven't consulted with either one of these Specialists then I highly recommend you do.

My Ex Partner had Obstructive Azoospermia meaning there was an obstruction somewhere along the reproductive tract so obtaining sperm was possible as his testes was producing them just fine, the only issue was they couldn't find their way out the normal route. It was if he'd had a vasectomy without having one if that makes sense??

In Non Obstructive Azoospermia cases like yours, the causes are medical Luv, so although it's always possible to find sperm through procedures like a TESA or biopsy, the chances are quite small. The fact none have been found via a biopsy isn't good news I'm afraid There's nothing anyone can do to make your testes produce sperm. No medications, chinese herbs etc or medical procedures are going to make that happen.

I think the biopsy that you've had is as far as you can go with this. You could possibly have another biopsy done I think in a different area to see if any sperm could be found or on your other testes if only one side was biopsied this time, but other than that, I don't believe there's anything else you can do unfortunately

Please have a ph consult or face to face consult with one of the Specialists I've recommended (if you live in the same city). Those 2 are without a doubt the best of the best in the field of MFI and will tell you what's what.

Default Azoospermia success stories (no sperm donor)

Re to what has said above. Yes You can do another biopsy. MircoTESE. As i mentioned, I don't know if the dr at concept does it.

It is good that they found one sperm. But the dr has taken away that particular tubule that produces sperms.

No dr is going to tell u that it will work. Dr will only give u the percentage of change. My dr did and we gave it a go.
