Default What's 'normal' in regards to cramping?

    Hi everyone

Well as a first timer I'm probably panicking or overthinking
But what type of cramping is 'normal'?

I'm approx 4 wks and get mild period type pains on and off and get so paranoid that with EVERY cramp I check for blood!! Tonight there was a very thick cloudy mucus and still cramping...

I had period like pains until well into the second trimester, nothing bad ever happened and I was always just told it was normal uterus stretching pains. It's annoying how uterus stretching feels just like uterus squeezing
Hope that's all it is for you too!

I had period pain right through first trimester 1st time. And a slight bleed at 5w and all went well. My son is now 15m.
Second time around no cramps so maybe it's a first time thing.

I was exactly the same. Frequently cramping in first trimester and even in to the second, and constantly checking for blood. Everything turned out fine. My Dd is now 7 weeks old. Try not to worry (I know, easier said than done!).

Same for me. stacks of period pain cramping. Eased at 7 weeks and came back at 8. I always tell myself it's normal and a good sign of growing stretching pains.

Know what you mean about checking though. I was more addicted to that then POAS! It does get better, promise.

I felt like a had my period for most of the first trimester. To give you an idea - at times the cramps were bad enought that I had trouble getting to sleep at night. If I was not pregnant I would have been taking panadol for it.

I also had some mild spotting on and off for the first trimester as well, my OB said not to worry as it can be the placenta attaching causing some mild bleeding.

I now have a cheeky 15 month old Hope that helps and best wishes for your pregnancy.

When i was pregnant i had cramping for a little while. I think it stopped a week or so after i entered the 2nd trimester. I had horrible cramping at 6 weeks with my 2nd and was sure i was going to miscarry and just waited and waited for it to come, but nope. She was happy and healthy in there. So i guess every woman feels it diferently. If youre ever worried go see your gp.

    TMI warning

Just a word of advice, I noticed my UTI symptoms much worse when I was a bit constipated. Not sure if it makes a difference for you...but I wish someone had told me that the day I got my BFP.

Also I had all the symptoms of a UTI but the test was negative for infection. Go figure. My GP says it can be another preg thing.

    Good luck with it 🌻
