Default Christmas Crafts to make with kids

Does anyone have ideas for christmas crafts to make with kids? I know DS would love to make some stuff, but I am not very creative.

I am going down to my DS1;s daycare and making bon bons. Some chirssy paper, ribbon and lollies and balloons. We will decorate a card too. Last year I photocopied a calndar and got each child to bring in a family photo and they made a present for their parents we decorated it with stickers and coloured it in.
I usually do chrissy cookies wrap them in cellophane and hang them from the tree with a card, as a extra gift if someone misses out, or I have forgotton and they have got us something.

I found this on the internet last night and going to give it a go with my kids.
    Salt dough ornaments
    4 cups of flour
    1 cup of salt
    1 - 1 1/2 cups of hot water

    holiday cookie cutters
decorations - glitter, paint, beads, etc
    glue

Make a dough with above ingredients, roll out and cut shapes out with cookie cutters.
Use a toothpick to make a hole for hanging, being sure to make the hole a little larger than you will want as they tend to close when baking.
Microwave a plate of your ornaments for 2 to 4 mins, depending on how many you have on each plate and the size of your microwave. Increase cooking by 2min increments until dough appears fairly dry. Let cool.
Now for the fun bit.......go wild and decorate.

    Cheers
    Janine

Seekrit, that is the sweetest idea ever! I'll have to keep that in mind for next Christmas

I second the bon bon idea, start saving toilet rolls from now, as little hands tend to squish a bit hard when working on their creative projects I find

A lovely and enjoyably messy craft is to use PVA to draw snowflake shapes (on taut gladwrap works well) and then either leave them plain or sprinkle glitter on them. When they are dry and clear, peel them off and they self adhere to clean windows beautifully! (You can also make snowflakes from folding paper lots of times and cutting bits and pieces from them, rubbish explanation but I hope you get it )

    Have fun!

I've actually seen a similar handprint things done but making an angel.

Here's a link (since I can't think of how to describe how to do it) http://www.geocities.com/theartkids/...irst/angel.jpg

    - You could make sock puppets and use pipecleaners for reindeer antlers

    - decorate foam balls. you can either paint, paste on paper and glitter or pin in fabric, and then pin in a ribbon to hang from the tree.

    - Make your own advent calender out of egg cartons and crepe paper. If you get a group of siblings and friends together (i did it with a class of kids one year) each person can make one for someone else in the group. some of the days can contain chocolates/small toys and some can contain personalized notes to that person.

    - :tree: When we were kids we used to make chritmas trees out of old womans weekly magazines

YOu need two thick magazines. Fold each page into the middle of the magazine to form a triangle. (you can fold it again if you want a skinnier tree). then you need to cut off the excess from the bottom and stick the two mags back to back - this can be a bit tricky and kids may need help. Then you spray paint them - silver looks nice, green, red etc. If you want to you can stick sequines or ribbons on too as decorations.

    Have fun
