    Read some of the replies and thought that reminds me of that house in Townsville. Checked the photo in the OP and sure enough.......we used to live nearby and every time I drove past I would wonder how anyone could live in it. Especially in cyclone season!

    In regards to cyclones, it might be "safe" but no effing way would I be in that house during one.
    I remember when I was about 6 we were living in far north QLD.
    The house was on stilts, like an old queenslander, but on stilts.
    I still remember to this day how much that house rocked during a cyclone.
    It was the most horrible feeling, like being on a ship in rough seas.
    The house was "cyclone safe"...... But still!
