I had three, 38, 39 and 40 weeks. None did anything! I was booked to be induced 41+2 but went naturally and had my DD at 41.

She never engaged and my cervix was always closed so I think in hindsight the s&s wouldn't have made a difference.

Think I'll avoid this time around as they aren't very pleasant!

Yes I had 3, one every 48 hours from 41 weeks when my cervix became favourable and the last one worked. There was more progress each time.

They don't always work as your body has to ready( same as induction really, don't enter into it lightly). It is uncomfortable though but definitely better than induction in my experience!!

I had 2. First at 41 weeks and 1 at 41.2 weeks, labour started that night. I agree, I think that everything has to be favourable for it to work. With the second one the obs could feel the babies head so nice and low and ready to go. It helped me avoid a repeat c-sec (could not be induced) and I had a successful VBAC

I had one at 40 weeks then another at 41+2 and was in labor by lunchtime that day. I did also have a session of induction acupuncture the same morning and had been 3cm dilated for 2 weeks.
