Default Number of nights away (holiday with kids)

Next year we'll be celebrating our 10 year anniversary in Noosa with Ds (3yrs) and Ds (5yrs).
We just want a relaxing beach/pool holiday.
We're thinking 5 nights based on our budget, so 4 full days plus on arrival day we'll have the whole afternoon.
    Do you think that's enough?

If I get an extra night it will be around $245 p.n. + food + car rental.
This is our FIRST real holiday, lol!

Wow sounds like a lot of fun! It's really up to you but you can definitely fit a lot of fun and leisure into those days. DP and I generally don't go anywhere for more than a week because we start missing home too much to have a really good time.

I'd say if you are flying , spend the extra night. Holidays go so quickly, you could perhaps economise on a few things - if breakfasts aren't included take some cool morning snacks etc.

To add - I've not been to Nusa to know how much is there to do - but I'd sure like to find out!

    Yes we'll be flying.
We don't plan to do any sight seeing, just beach, pool, river. Relax!

I'd probably spend the extra night then.

I go the extra night. It takes me a few days to unwind and enjoy, and I know when we take SS away on holidays with us it takes him a night or two to settle in as well.

Noosa is perfect for the ages of your kids - lovely flat beach, very small waves. You often see dolphins in Laguna Bay, which the kids would beta kick out of. And there are often koalas in the national park, not far from the entry signs, so don't discount heading up there. It's very pretty and restful. The Noosa River is nice too and the kids might like feeding the pelicans, or going on a ferry ride.

How exciting! I would definitely stay an extra night if you possibly can. As a PP suggested, maybe try cutting out costs elsewhere? Time on holidays passes so quickly, it's always nice to have an extra day.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions.

I emailed the travel agent this morning asking for a quote for the extra night.

Things are a bit tight at the moment (credit card, working on the house, Dh may owe tax this year...etc!), so hopefully it wont be too much.

It just sucks the rate goes up on school holidays
