    Default Growing Roses

15 weeks ago I planted bare foot roses (3 bushes) literally straight into the ground... they were sticks!

All 3 have come along beautifully, and this week, I got to pick my very own, very first rose that I've ever grown!

The second bush has a bud pushing through and the third bush has two coming through!

I am so proud of my efforts! ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1408604188.220610.jpg

Beautiful rose @babylove81 . Roses are just amazing plants. I have lots of standard roses and they are so hardy and low maintenance. They make my day every time they flower - I hope yours bring you just as much happiness.

Lovely! I love roses. I have a couple in pots which are just starting to sprout new leaves after the winter pruning

    Thank you everyone!!! 😊

As it's opened up more and gotten bigger it has completely changed colour; I don't know if I've done it right or done something wrong along the way.

This is what it started out like...

... and this was what it looked like when I picked it on Tuesday!

It is still so lovely, and having them and attending to them has given me some peace about everything, (good therapy I think), but I'm intrigued as to why it's changed colour...

I don't think you've done anything wrong. Some of my hybrid tea roses change colour as the open. They generally start off dark and as they open right out they lighten in colour. They're hardly flowering at the moment - I'd attach a photo if they were.

I also have one that has two different rose flowers - something went wrong with the grafting and it ended up with apricot and red roses

Very common for roses to change colour as they open. I have a vase of spray roses on my bench that are cream buds with pink edges, but are going all pink as they open.

If you notice your peach coloured roses going more orange/yellow each year then it could be a soil balance thing. I've had this happen when cats kept urinating in the beds.

I've just moved into a rental and waiting to see what the roses in the front are. We were in early enough for me to prune them do hoping for a good show!
