    Default Just curious...

So I'm sitting in the car in our drive using our wifi while dd is sleeping.

There is a noise behind me, I look in rear view mirror and coming down the long driveway opposite our house is a boy about 3-4 riding his bike, naked. His mother or caregiver is way at the top of the drive calling out to him. He checks his mailbox, and that of both neighbours. He runs his mail up to the woman, runs back again an gets on his bike and rides back up again.

Df has been telling me for days he is seeing this daily, and I kind of didn't believe him. I caught the end of it yesterday as I walked outside, same routine.

What I'm curious about: would you let your young child ride their trike daily about 100m to the mailbox and back naked? I don't know if it makes a difference, but we live right on the edge of town in a new area of an oldish estate. It's a court, but with a surprising amount of traffic.

No, I would get my DS to put some pants on - at least some undies.

His privates are private. I would want to protect his modesty.

My boy loves being nuddy and is frequently nude, including situations like you just described.

I'd get him to put some undies on a least, and/or pair of shorts/pants.

    Lol

to be honest, I probably wouldnt care that much.

My DD has always been one to want to keep her knickers on. She went through a phase of being happy to get her gear off, but it always involved keeping her knickers on, and it was always at home.

Her playgroup friends on the other hand, went through a phase of consistently and constantly ending up naked. At home, at the park, at playgroup ... wherever. and often.

I think its a pretty normal phase they go through ... so it wouldnt bother me that much

    Is he Toilet training?

I had my nearly 3yo showing his butt out the front of the house over the weekend, although I wouldn't let him wander out of our front garden like that.

No. Mostly because if he had a spill, clothes would protect his skin a bit.

I have a bit of a thing about public nudity with children. I don't trust everyone, and I prefer my children to have covering of some sort at all times. I would not allow this situation, if I was the mother. but live and let live. marie.

*sigh* I am the mother of 'those boys' in our street. Y'know, the 3 naked boys jumping on the trampoline so everyone in the neighborhood can see...

I wouldn't think anything of it and I'd be rather sympathetic to situation in that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you can't keep clothes on your kids!
