Yes they care about their *own* children but I contend they're extremely short sighted about the broader societal impacts.

Also, why is it that no one in the anti vax groups place weight on anyone else in the CDC and specifically those others who worked on the study and feel they carried it out to the letter? Or is it only people who say what they want to hear the honest and truthful people?

That debunks nothing, it just tries to excuse it and downplay it.

Which is how reliable now? You can go on and on about conspiracy theories but there are obvious issues around transparency and ommitting results.

Which is now showing as 'mixture', which as I don't usually go to snopes for my information I am assuming means partially true.

To be honest I am quite shocked at the developments over the last week. I have never really bought into the conspiracy theory, particularly at a government level. My views have been that they just don't know, they don't fully understand the mechanism of autism and the complexity of our immune systems. I was waiting for a discovery, not a revelation.

Just because there is an issue with ONE paper doesnt disprove or discredit any of the others that all say the same thing.

I don't want you to think that I just hear something like this and think it couldn't possibly true. If there is even a hint that something is not right - I think it needs to be investigated thoroughly.

The problem I have is that the anti vax groups jump on something like this as "fact" and backup for all their misguided quackery. And that isn't helpful for anyone - especially those in the ASD community. If you look at the anti vax groups and the things they are saying at the moment - you would think that this one story means that vaccines = autism, and like PP said - you can't discredit those thousand of studies that have shown no link and have been done the proper way.
