Default What does this sign mean?

Is it just me or is this sign ambiguous? How would you interpret it. It is a sign with the footpath on the left of the pole and the road on the right.

Eta: is it ok to park at 5 pm on Wednesday / weekday in front of the sign?

    How odd.
I'd totally just be guessing, but maybe parking is allowed behind that sign (based on the angle of the pic) and no parking ahead of it. Very confusing... who knows?

I would assume the pole has been turned so if it was facing the road one side is no parking and the other 1 hr parking

Yes it means no parking in front of the sign & parking in the designated times behind the line.

Yes, I agree. At one stage the sign would have been facing the road I suspect. So left side is parking for one hour during those particular times, the other side is no parking at all.

What everyone else has said. We have signs like that everywhere here so it's not confusing for me at all.

Thank you so much everyone it is how I read it too!! Don't know why so many people were giving me dirty looks and honking at me when I stopped to park outside the designated hours.

Eta: please clarify does it mean for example that I can park at 5 pm on a wednesday?
Some people have told me I can only park for one hour in the designated times and it's no parking any time outside that. To me that is incorrect bc the no parking arrow is pointing the other way.

Usually if it's no parking outside of those hours it has an extra sign that says 'no parking x hours' on top of the 1P sign.
