Yes, its going to be lots of families there, we'll take our son, lots of donor conceived kids too. Well, we won't know who's who really, unless I recognise them from their avatars, most people use their faces for avatars as its a closed group. About 50 people turning up. It'll be a nice opportunity to chat to people who have gone down the same road.

@Rarah11 how are you finding the Viagra??? Hope the injections aren't causing you too much discomfort. When is your ultrasound to check follie growth?
@Bongley That sounds exciting! What a great opportunity to meet up with potential donors and also talk with other families. Sorry if you have already said this but do you plan to have ongoing contact with your donor (if you don't mind me asking)?

Hi @Bellydance my potential donor just wants the odd update, basically facebook contact is fine with her. I know a lot of egg donors want a more 'special aunty' relationship but there are also donors who want as anonymous as possible. Its just a matter of finding one who wants the same thing as you do. Unfortunately some donors are victims of a 'grab and run' as they call it where the recipient cuts off all contact once they get preggers. The donor has absolutely no legal rights to anything once the eggs have been fertilised I think.

That's interesting @Bongley thanks for sharing. aren't there laws that say that donors must be capable of being identified at age 18? Wouldn't that prevent a complete snatch and run? Or does the donor only have access to identifying information once the child is 18?
i am really interested in this as we have quite a few frozen embryos. We want another child but if there are any left when we are done I don't know what we will do. I look at my daughter and know that she was our fourth embryo transferred and think if we had have had success with two before her she would be a frozen embryo that we would have to decide what to do with. It's going to be an incredibly difficult decision if we have to make it but donation would be something we would consider so I am interested to know how it works. Thinking a long way ahead here and may not be a decision we ever have to make...

Oh yes, it absolutely has to be a 'known' egg donor. However some egg donors can donate 'anonymously' to clinics and their info will only become available to the child when the child turns 18. The recipients don't know the donor. It's a little confusing but basically there is no such thing as a truly anonymous egg donor. Some donors are effectively cut out of people's lives, even though they were under the impression they would be in touch with the family or updated about the child. Hope that makes sense.
It may be different with embryo donation but I imagine it's similar......having said that I know in some states you can still have truly anon sperm donation.

AFM started inj yesterday after 2weeks on progynova, that really didnt agree with me but i just dealt with it while quietly being irrational lol starting to get abit paniky about the what ifs, what if no embryos are normal what if the cycle is cancelled again, what if lucrin trigger doesnt make me ovulate. bad thoughts aside and lets get this done
