    Not selfish at all. I'd do it. The only thing that would stop me would be if the money was too much of a stretch and put too much pressure on the family budget. If money isn't too much of an issue and you can make arrangements for your kids to be looked after, I don't see a problem at all. I think it's a good thing that kids see their parents working towards a reward for themselves and achieving it.
