    Default IVF cycles

Hi all. After a horrendous 2013, suffering two miscarriages (1 natural, 1 ectopic which resulted in me losing a tube), my FS suggested IVF was the next step if I wanted to have children. I have been on Clomid for 5 cycles and my body just doesn't respond at all.
My question is to everyone who has concieved with the aid of IVF, how many cycles did it take before you fell pregnant?

My hubby and I are quite nervous and hope it doesn't take too many cycles.

I have recently conceived on my third ivf cycle. We never had any embryos to freeze so all of those were full stim cycles.

We were warned to expect at least two because for your first cycle the Dr doesn't know how you'll respond and so has to guess to some extent what will work. After two cycles with pretty poor results (only 2 eggs collected each time) we changed fs and got our bfp.

Good luck! It can be a really tough ride but sometimes you've just got to do whatever it takes!

We got our baby girl from our third IVF cycle. 1 full stim, 1 FET with first clinic, 1st full stim with new clinic = baby + 3 frosties. All embryos implanted were top quality but our new clinic tested/treated for immune issues which seemed to do the trick. Plenty of people get lucky on the first cycle, but it can also take a bit of trial & error to get success. Good luck I hope it works for you first time!

Third time lucky for us too. The result of that cycle is 2 weeks old and sleeping in the bassinet next to me right now

We did 3 full stim cycles and only got 1 in the freezer on our last cycle. We have male factor issues so we did PICSI.

We went into it knowing that the first cycle is a bit of a trial run so didn't have any expectations. When the second cycle failed I found it more difficult to accept. I struggled through the third cycle and was convinced it would fail so was totally shocked when we got our BFP. Our FS did change quite a few things for the third round which got us better quality embryos.

Apparently about 80% of couples are successful within 3 attempts so that's encouraging.

    Good luck!

We have twins from first cycle.
Only retrieved 4 eggs, 3 fertilised, transferred 2 embryos, 1 failed and the other one split into identical twins.

We were lucky and had success 1st cycle. 1 fresh transfer did the trick and dd2 is on my lap watching tv wating brekkie. Am currently pg (tbc by bt) with the only leftover embryo we had from cycle 1. I hope you get lucky and the journey is short.

My profile shows my ivf history. The first cycle is usually a test for FS's to see how your body responds but hopefully you're lucky first go. One thing our new FS did which ultimately got our bub is to watch for FS's that stimulate you too much. My new FS worked based on quality not quantity of eggs. The more stimulation for more eggs the less quality they will be. Ultimately you need good quality eggs. Good luck!

It took me 4 goes for my son when I was 39. I had a laparoscopy and endo removed after cycle number 3 and I'm pretty sure that did the trick as I had no implantation before that point.

Now trying for baby 2 and about to embark on the 4th cycle this time around (not including a cancelled cycle). Not sure how many more I have in me, I think my eggs are old and decrepit unfortunately!

I think it helps to know you aren't out of the race if you don't fall preggers in 2 or 3 or more goes. I have seen persistence on these threads pay off time and again.

    Good luck!
