    Hi Everyone,
    I'm Beck and I am new to the forum and forums in general!
    My partner and I have been TTC for just over a year now with no success.
    I originally saw Dr Iris Wang (Chatswood) for our fertility issues and have finished all our tests which concluded with me not ovulating long enough per cycle and my partner with a lower sperm count. She suggested ICSI with embryo glue. So full steam ahead and I organise to start in June till I got the upfront payment notice from IVF Australia ..... $12,000 upfront payment and we would then be looking at around $5,500 per cycle? It seems a bit expensive

    So I have read great reviews about Westmead (and its much cheaper) and thought I would seek a second opinion! I now have an initial appointment with Dr Warren Chan next week...

    Had anyone used him for fertility before? Im hoping fingers crossed he looks at all our tests and lets us start our first cycle in June!!!

    Is anyone currently with Westmead? Any advice??

    Thanks for listening ✨❤️

    Welcome Beck, I'm not currently cycling at WFC but have so in the past. I'm not familiar with dr Chan so perhaps he's fairly new to WFC? The usual Dr's are Dr Geyer, Dr smith, Dr Bradbury and Dr Fong. I have found the clinic great and very reasonably priced. If you haven't already done so get your partner onto menevit it really helps sperm count. Also both cut out alcohol and caffeine. Happy to answer any specific questions you have :-)

    Warren Chan used to be at Genea, then Next Gen/Bump, I didn't know he was at WFC now too! Haven't used him personally but his name is quite familiar.

    Beck wishing you all the very best in your journey and I hope all goes to plan this year for u .

    I highly recommend Westmead for many reasons . A few reasons ;
    1. The Fertility Specialist are all great from what I have heard - known well amongst other clinics and highly spoken of
    2. The nurses are ALL wonderful ! You deal with nurses about 90% of the time with Westmead and they are all so lovely , knowledgeable and most of all patient . You will never be left in the dark ...all steps are discussed with u and ur partner .
    3. The cost is very affordable and you get back quite a lot of what u pay so the out of pocket expenses aren't bad at all .
    4. Success rates are high up there as well and definitely with the other more expensive clinics .

    If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask .
    I would recommend Westmead in a heartbeat and am happy to say I'm pregnant from my very first transfer that took place in March . Don't think it was just "luck" ...they only went ahead with my transfer when they knew all my levels were 100% perfect . I wish u all the best

    You need to have an appointment with the nurses and then generally you can get started the next cycle so not much of a wait :-)

    Thanks Beck. My little girl is a WFC baby, but our current one is from a different clinic, but I still love coming back and cheering on the girls. Such a great group of women.
