Default Car seat questions - please help!

We were given a baby capsule way back by a relative to use for bub, however I have been informed this week that we need to give it back because her SIL is pregnant and they want to use it!

So we need to buy a car seat fairly quickly. We haven't looked into it at all as we thought we had the capsule until bub was old enough to grow out of it.

We have a small car and I have heard that a lot of carseats are too big/don't fit properly in smaller cars. Is this true?

Also what carseat do you have and what would you recommend we look for? Best value for money?

    Thanks

We got an Infasecure Neon for ds...it fits in a small car and can rearface for a long time. We havent used it yet as ds is still in his capsule (safe n sound unity) which we also use in the pram.

Try the choice website for recommendations also go to a baby store and ask if you can sit the display models in your car to see how they fit.

We bought a 'safe and sound compaq' which is specifically designed for small cars with narrow back seats. The aim (and one of the selling points) of this particular carseat is that theoretically if you needed, you could have 3 of them along the backseat. We are very happy with ours, might be worthy look? I'd recommend both of the seats already mentioned and also the infa secure kompresser caprice. They are all designed to have high rear facing markers without the shell being so long that the people in the front have to have their seats right up against the dash.
