Default Abnormal bleeding on the pill??

Hi there, I have been on the contraceptive pill for about 6 months without any sort of side effect, and this time around I had a perfectly normal and expected period, however a week later I began to have quite thick brown discharge, with occasional little bits of red as well (sorry TMI). This has been going on for about a week now with mild cramping every now and again and I'm very confused what it would be! I took a pregnancy test that came back negative but I guess if I was pregnant it would be too early to tell.
    Any ideas??

hi..Maybe should consult a doctor.Because as far as I know you bleed when you miss a pill.

Did you take a pill late?

I'm on a low dose pill and if I forget a pill and take it the next morning it can trigger bleeding.

It's not uncommon to have spotting on a low dose pill (is it the combined ocp or the mini pill?)- are your pap smears up to date would be the other question?
