    Rather than borrowing off a family member can you get either of your parents to go guarantor for you?

    We did this with our first property, we had it re valued by the bank 2 years later once we had done some renovations on it and it had gone up enough in value to have them removed as guarantors.

    I think it's a better idea to wait until you have a deposit.

    It's easy to get caught up in the 'perfect house' and forget about the other side of things. Have you gone to look at other houses? How long have you been saving for?
