    Default Special present

I want to get my lovely nana a special present this year for her birthday but I'm stuck on what to get her?

She's had a pretty rough life, she had many health problems as a children, her first husband bet her (my mothers father), her next husband, my grandfather whom I miss dearly, died when she was only 48 and she's been alone ever since. She lost the house because they didn't have life insurance.

Recently she lost her job, she worked at the community college, helping young school drop outs get into the workforce but the government cut the funding so she lost it. She's one month of retirement but she has little in the way of savings.

I love my nana dearly, and we speak nearly every day even though we live miles apart and I only see her once a year. She's such a kind and gentle lady always willing to help others (she is part of many charity and "helping others" organisations).

I'm at a total loss of what to get her, to represent her life and how much she means to me and my family...

    Any ideas??

    Thanks in advance

Could you pay for her to fly to you when she retires?

We did that only about 6 months ago. Me, my mum and my aunties all put in so she could come see me (It's an international flight so not cheap)..

I'll keep it in mind however when i graduate from my phd I was also going to surprise her with flights here so she could watch me graduate
