Just a different perspective than working as an AIN in a facility...

I work as a coordinator for a service that provides in home and community care for the elderly. The carers that I deploy have a certificate lll. I have personally worked doing both facility care and community care (as an AIN) and I find that facility care is much more confronting and a lot harder.

My staff would usually assist the elderly with their personal care, meal preparation, shopping, banking, doctors appointments or household tasks. Some of the elderly clients are happy to just have someone sit with them for a cup of tea because of the loneliness.

Just another option there other than working in a nursing home 😄

I used to work in aged care as a pca, now I am studying cert iv in leisure and health and doing my student placement in another aged care facility. I am loving it. Having said that I have worked in a couple of places and the work environment really makes a difference to how much you enjoy your work.
