I had one at 40+1 with dd. Wasn't too bad. My water actually broke that night and labor kicked in pretty quickly after that. Not sure if it "worked" or my body was just ready anyway!!

I'm currently 39+2 and have asked about one for my next appointment (if I get that far) and midwife said same " will only really work if your body is ready"

    Good luck

I had one, I was terrified it would hurt, I didn't feel it at all.

It was uncomfortable but didn't feel the actual sweep.

I had gas to relax me though which helped.

It didn't work for me, I was induced 4 days later at 13 days overdue.

I've had one, with DS1 I was 41 weeks- it was very uncomfortable, but it did the job and sent me into labour. I had him less than 24 hours later.

I had one at 40 weeks and again at 41 weeks (was in labour by lunchtime that day).

I didn't think it hurt more uncomfortable, I found a Pap smear more painful.

I've had a few, one with DD1 just before her due date, it didn't hurt too really just a bit uncomfortable. All it did was make me loose some plug.
I had two or three with my fourth pregnancy, the midwife said that three a few days apart works best. Wasn't painful again and again all it did was make me loose plug and I ended up being induced with gel and an ARM.
