Default Baby measuring small at 26 weeks

I'm 26 weeks 5days and today at the obstetrician baby is measuring 2 weeks behind, about 5th percentile. Last scan at 22wks he was a little behind, not this much. Apparently all measures small (head/abdomen/length). He seems normally active and amniotic fluid is fine. So I have a formal growth scan Friday.

I am so worried about what will happen. I had low Papp-A and a slightly enlarged nuchal fold found at the NT scan, CVS was fine for chromosomes and anatomy scan is fine now. I knew there was higher risk of pre eclampsia and IUGR but thought it wouldn't start so early.

Anyone have any experiences to share? Did your baby catch up? If not did they decide to deliver early and is baby OK?

My DD was born below 5th percentile and classified IUGR (she was born at 25 weeks but very different circumstances so please don't let that worry you).

She's never really caught up, but has grown well, in proportion and is just petite, very healthy Not always too much wrong with being on the smaller side so long as any underlying reason for IUGR is being looked after. Best of luck.

Thanks for your reply GM01. How great that your DD is healthy after such an early arrival. Nice to know small doesn't always come with other health issues. The OB thinks it's the placenta function and said nothing we can do about it, hoping to keep him in and growing as long as possible.
