Default FSH Injections - Success Stories?

    Hi ladies,

I’m new to the group however have been TTC since April 2013. My story shortened = husband & I got married April 2013, I came off the pill March 2013, my husband works FIFO so hardly ever home but I always had irregular periods. In March 2014 I decided to get us both tested, he was fine however I found out that I had PCOS. Went to see a fertility specialist in May 2014 and he prescribed me with Clomid & Metformin. Both these drugs have helped me have a more regular cycle but we have not managed to have any success. I went for another follow up appointment this morning and he did a scan and found out I’m not ovulating (currently Day 11) so he has put me on FSH injections this week and recommended that my husband get his sperm frozen in case he is not around when the injections have worked.

Would be interested to know if anybody else has gone through something similar and had any successes? I’m feeling down as it wasn’t the result I was hoping for today so appreciate any feedback!

    Thanks

    Hi,

I've used FSH injections for 3 IUI cycles conceived ds1 on the third cycle and currently on day 5 of injections for 2nd cycle for baby number 2.

I don't have pcos or any fertility problems but we are same sex couple and use frozen donor sperm from the US.

I've had success with FSH and using frozen sperm so I think your specialist is on the right track and I would probably also freeze dh's sperm incase he is away during ovulation this month.
Fingers crossed this is your month

    Hi mrsannabyrne,
I am a FIFO wifey too. Also have PCOS and suspected endo, currently on my third round of FSH injections. I have a 12 month old who was naturally conceived after a m/c with 2 rounds of clomid. Clomid hasn't worked for me this time so have moved on to FSH - easier timing wise too as hubby is 4:1 which makes it tougher ttc.
Crossing my fingers for this month

hi there, im actually embarking on something similar myself so watching the thread, we have two kids both conceived on low levels of clomid but now clomid doesnt seem to be working to achieve ovulation - I do have PCOS too. We are looking to embark on the FSh injections, if you dont mind me asking how much is it costing to do it?
would also love to hear success stories!!

It worked for me! I've got lean pcos. I conceived my daughter after 5 cycles of injections - 1 cancelled and 4 with trigger shot and timed sex. I'm now on day 3 of injections TTC number 2. I'm hoping it's first time lucky this time round 😉
Injections cost me about $37 for 3 boxes. Monitoring appointments are what make it expensive - particularly when I'm injecting for 21-27 days 😳
