Hmmm...hard to tell what is going to happen. On one hand, it's obviously still very early, so 33 to 102 is still absolutely in keeping with 18dpo. And we are only talking about 4w4d, which fits with the ClearBlue result of "2-3 weeks". And...it was clearly a late implanter.

But, I understand that you'd prefer higher numbers in order to be absolutely convinced. When is next bhCG?

This is a stressful time...I remember with Lucy I was incredibly stressed until my scan at 7 weeks, even despite a healthy rise in bhCG. (I think a great deal of the anxiety was due to two successive miscarriages, however!).

I think you are still definitely in with a chance.

    J xx.

This is Lucy today in her new "Target" dress from my Grandma. Lucy is impossible to photograph at the moment; she wont smile or look at the camera!

Thanks J. Yep rationally I know it's not totally over.

I guess I just want to be able to breathe a bit better. I've been holding my breath for a month now!

Next bloods on Friday. I don't know if I'll feel better even if they keep rising nicely, until I see a hb.

Do you know if it's normal for the hcg doubling time to vary or is it usually pretty consist with always doubling in the same frame of time (while under 1000 or whenever they say it starts to slow down)?

Hers has gone from a 38 hour doubling time to 59 hours... I guess if that's in keeping with the norm it's not too bad. But I feel like it must be slowing down for a reason. And I love this embryo so much already and so badly want our babies to have the same donor so I will be so devastated if it ends badly.

Lucy is super cute in her dress!

To be honest, I have never seen a study (from a reputable source) on bhCG doubling-rates.

But, given there is such a wide variation in the actual bhCG value at a given gestation, I imagine the same is true for the doubling-rate.

As you know, bhCG is produced by the developing placenta (which then acts on the corpus luteum which then produces progesterone)...and at this very early stage, the placenta is still really tiny!!

I used to have my bhCG values written down for my pregnancy with Lucy, but they were lost when I changed my phone, bugger it. But I do remember that my doubling time was not consistent, but quite variable.

Are you going to check in a few days with another ClearBlue?

I totally understand that you want the same donor as Toby, I would want that too!!

So...you want Friday's to be at least 300, hey? I am "willing" it to be so, as I imagine the other girls are too!!

    J xxx.

    Yep, 300 would be fabulous.

We won't do another pregnancy test. The clear blue 2-3 is meant to indicate levels above 200 which obviously wasn't accurate so I think they might just get my hopes up again.

Hopefully on Friday we will have a better understanding. If they're going to drop maybe today's slowing down could be the start of that. If they are going to keep climbing, that will be evident.

I've everything crossed for a sticky bub RR. I've no idea on bhCG as only had 1 test with River (which indicated it was unlikely to be viable as levels were exceedingly low) and none with Mesa

I have everything crossed for you RR!!

I need some advice, during the night I slept on my chest and my right boob had blocked ducts, I fed A on that one twice overnight and cleared it but it is still quite painful especially to touch (only where the blockage was) is that normal? How do I fix it? I really do not want mastitis!!! Thanks xx

Not sure Michelle. Maybe massage the sore spot in the shower?
J I love the photo of Lucy. She is adorable. Hope I get to meet you both next Vic visit xx
RR hope the wait for Friday comes quickly. I think I'm glad I didn't have all the blood tests it would have made it more stressful for me.

AFM I have just enrolled to do my doula training. Very scary prospect but I'm excited.
Mesa is great, 5mths old, rolling heaps but thankfully not crawling yet.
River is amazing just seems to learn new stuff every day. She has a cold at the moment. Put her to bed before and she threw up everywhere which is unfortunate as I'd just given her panadol. Poor baby.

Thanks Toni and RR - I kept feeding her on that side and massaged them as she fed and massaged in it the shower last night then pumped and now today it isn't blocked or sore. I fed Autumn and then pumped and got 270ml just from that one side. Must have been much fuller than I thought.

J - Lucy is adorable in that photo!
