Hi everyone! Finally made it over to this thread Our little girl Chelsea arrived 3days early on the 23rd Jan. A healthy 3590g and 52cm. Feeling extremely exhausted as to be expected but otherwise doing well. So happy she is finally here, we are so in love with her.

Thank you guys 😊 oooh whose bubby is Chelsea too? It's kind of common but not so much for this age group so haven't met anyone else with it for a bub yet.

Birth was overall really good so we were lucky. Waters broke naturally at 1.30pm then active labour was around 7hrs. Contractions started immediately at 2mins never letting up but just increasing in intensity quickly, I was also vomiting between each one. They gave me an injection which lessened it but still was sick every few. Ended up having an epidural after being checked and only 3cms. Didn't want to risk gas because I was already nauseated and I didn't think I could have handled much longer if I was only 3cms. By the time the epi kicked in and they checked me for the catheter I was fully dilated (in hindsight probably could have waited but the epi was still a godsend). Pushed for just over an hour but needed the vontuse to help get her head out the rest of the way because her heart rate was dropping and I was exhausted from pushing. Was so surreal and she arrived at 11.16pm. Had a second degree tear from the force of the vontuse but other than that everything was great. Healing slowly down there - no one warns you quite enough of what to expect in the after effects of all that pushing lol. Looking forward to feeling a little more normal hopefully in a few weeks but all worth it for my precious girl.

    Jessie, she is divine!!!
Sounds like you did an amazing job during her birth. Hope your tear heals up quickly. I had a bad third degree (after failed vacuum then forceps) and felt ok down there after 2-3 weeks. It's certainly a new experience!!

Miss XamX (can't remember if I've spelt that right?!) has a Chelsea too but would now be around 16-17 months old as born a couple of weeks after my little girl :-)

Congratulations Jessi! I have been following your story on the Graduates thread, so...welcome to the Babies thread!

Channy, Lincoln is adorable. He just looks like a little character in his photos, and he is very handsome.

Lil Smurfy; any improvement with Sienna's sleep? Does she have a dummy, or a favourite blankie or teddy? I am sure you have tried everything. In most probability, it is a passing phase, and she will soon be an angel!! The trick is for you not to go bonkers in the meantime. Does hubby help with the night-time wakings?

Darling Maybee...I am truly so sorry about your miscarriage. They really suck big time. I had 2 miscarriages between Oscar and Lucy (firstly an ectopic, and secondly a blighted ovum)...and I cried and grieved ALOT. The only way I could move forward, was to tell myself "That was not my baby...my baby is still coming.". And...my baby girl eventually came. I tried to think about a "big cosmic waiting room", wherein my baby was waiting for the right time to come and meet us. I know it sounds like alot of airy-fairy bulldust!!!...but it certainly helped with the pain of it all. Oh, and BubHub helped alot too...so keep us all posted, and vent as much as you need to.

    Bye for now, J xxx.
