How much does Sienna weigh? Are you giving her enough Panadol?

Sorry to jump on the medical questions...but how long are colds supposed to last in babies? Audrey is 8 weeks old and it hast now been almost 6 weeks since the beginning if this cold and progress has plateaued. I've taken her to the GP twice and because it's not respiratory or her ears, they just keep telling me to ride it out and look at me like I'm super paranoid mum (am I?). It just doesn't seem right to listen to her try so hard to clear her nose in the middle of the night and then cry because she can't. We have been using Fess little noses with suction and tried vaporiser but nothing is changing. She is warm at night (wondered whether it was that she was too cold) as we set the heater to 18degrees minimum and she has woolen blankets and wrapped Etc. Just feels too long???

Viral illnesses can unfortunately last quite a while in very young babies. They have a very immature immune system at this age, and it takes a while to fight off the virus.

Her main symptom is a congested, runny nose? Any others?

You are doing all the right things. The "snot sucker" I find to be very useful.

If you are concerned, don't be afraid to go back to the GP. Who cares if they look at you funny, as long as they examine her and reassure you, that's all that matters. It doesn't take long, and most decent doctors will be glad to do it.

Hi Girls, long time no post Good to see most of you are still around
Ill do my best to catch up with what been going on.
Me - James is going really well, almost 6 months old, just loving him to bits. he is a wonderful little boy! Had a serious health scare, difficult to explain but essentially had a very low risk type of thyroid abnormality (a bit like cancer) so i have been going through that, last appointment for an all clear next week and life getting back to normal, ive been off social media and forums and such spending time with family. it really shocked me into whats important
We are 'trying but not trying' for number two already argh! Am i crazy? Any other mummas have bubs close together?

Hey Ponytail good to hear from you. Pleased to hear James is ok now. Sounds like a very scary and stressful time! I can't help with the small age gap thing as mine are nearly 3 years apart and have to admit I prefer it that way and am planning a similar gap for #3! I always think people with small gaps must have babies who sleep well, lol. It is a very individual thing.

Smurfy I love the photos of Sienna. What did she get for her birthday?

Here's Meadow in the warm sunshine today. Trying to climb on a statue. I wish she'd keep her hat on, constantly pulls it off arghhh!
