I had a spontaneous labour start with my vbac, but I was going to slow for the registrar, apparently (eye roll) so was given the drip. It was not low dose, or minimal.
It was hard and fast - but it did the job, DD was born about 8hrs later.

I had no intention of a repeat CS though - and no intention of being bullied into one.

It's interesting how often the policies that we're told during preg go out the window during labour!

Yes I was really surprised when they were offering the drip and epi as all talk in the lead-up had been that I had to do it all myself. It was good though, even though I ended up with another CS, I felt really in control, like I had choices and that the decision really was mine. I had GDM so there'd been a lot of pressure to go into labour before my due date so it was a relief not to be feeling similar pressure on the day.

That's great Stetched! Feeling like you have choice is so important. During my Vbac with dd when I was transiting (and very cranky!!) I said something to DH and the midwife about the obs being so interested and worried, concerned, etc about the safety of a Vbac but where the heck were they then!!!
